Dancing Princess

Sophia finished her semester of dance last night. It was her first foray back into ballet since the big recital that included a fog machine, thereby negating any interest she ever had in dance. So it was important that she have a good experience this time around, and she did! She loves her teacher. She enjoys her class. She lives to dance!
Last night was also a chance for parents to come observe the class. She didn't know it, but Erick had decided to do his best to get there too. Once he arrived, she did her best to feign nonchalance. But she couldn't hide her pleasure.
This is my favorite position they do. Classic.
Sophia is very focused and sincere in her efforts. Often, that includes the tongue...
After a fun and focused dance class, what better way to celebrate than with a pulled pork sandwich? That's right. She really is her daddy's girl.

Best Day Ever

That was what Sophia called our day today. She followed that up with, "Well, maybe not the very best, but it was a really really good day!" It's the middle of Sophia's Spring Break, so I was glad to hear that she's having fun.

Our morning was spent hanging out and completely relaxing with TV, books and the like. Then we got serious about the fun. We met our friends (and thousands of strangers) at the zoo. Look how much fun we had. Have I mentioned that Maurice finds Sophia hilarious? She loves that about him.

After they left, Sophia danced. Because she must, I suppose.

Then she posed.

We had worked up a sweat, and I noticed that Sophia was in a mood to climb around. So we headed down to the World's Fair Pavilion and fountains. Sophia got wet and climbed all over.

It was a great day. A few more days of break to go. Let's see if they can live up to the hype...

True Enough

I have been a bit worn down these past few days, finally giving in to the cough that has been trying to claim me since we moved here. Fortunately for Sophia, she does a relatively good job of entertaining herself.

We have both worn pj's for days now. As soon as she got her clothes on today, she felt like dancing. So I cranked up the tunes and she broke it down. She's been working on her moves.
