Happy Halloween!

Sophia enjoyed her first Trick or Treating experience. She thought it was a lot of fun to get so many different treats from strangers, and they all enjoyed meeting such a happy puppy. So far, we've avoided too much sugar, but I'm sure that's just a matter of time! Can't you just hear her saying "Mu-wa-ha-ha!" We're in trouble. That's for sure.

BIG Weekend

This weekend, Erick and I went for our first overnight trip since Sophia was born. We went to St. Louis and hung out - shopping and dining and wandering without a care in the world or a child in the car. It was really amazing. We reconnected and enjoyed each other without distraction.

Apparently Sophia had a wonderful time, too. She is really close to walking and with the example of the boys and the encouragement of David and Casey, she came a long way. It's only a matter of time until she's doing it all on her own. We can't wait!

Kisses

We used to get these kisses. Now they are reserved for Baby and random toys. We get air kisses now. We're already in that stage.

Why I don't cut her bangs

Because she's so crazy, and it matches...

These days she loves to tear out her hair clip when she is frustrated...or just trying to be funny. This is the result.

Homecoming

We had a lot of fun this weekend. Homecoming activities at Mizzou are always very exciting...especially when completed by a victory! We started the day with the parade downtown. Sophia had a lot of fun watching all the people pass. Fortunately she didn't know what it was they were throwing at her, so we managed to avoid a severe sugar attack. We had to leave after an hour (halfway through the tremendously long parade). It was really a lot of fun, though. We continued the festivities with a Timbers Court tailgate. With a 2:30 kickoff, we didn't get to watch the game, but we got into the spirit at home anyway. Cooking out and having fun at our own little tailgate!

Oh yeah, and Yeah Tigers!!

Coubors or Neighsins?

What do you call neighbor/cousins?

We live across the street from my brother David and his family- Casey, Aaron and William. We are so blessed to have such great friends, let alone such great family! Sophia loves getting to play with her cousins. She pretty much thinks they walk on water...although she wouldn't yet understand that was really something special. Tuesday, Sophie and I got some good time in with the boys at our neighborhood park. Here are some pictures of my beautiful nephew-neighbors and Sophie.

By the way, I have no idea why she's making that face. Let me know what you think it is!

Pumpkin Patch

After we got home from Paul and Risha's on Sunday, we drove out to the Pick & Pick pumpkin patch. We decided to let Sophia pick out a couple of pumpkins and see if we could grab a Kodak moment from all the fall beauty. It was a lot of fun, even though the air was more warm than crisp. Fall is my absolute favorite season, and I think it's because it almost escapes you. You have to really be paying attention and living in the moment to fully appreciate this brief but beautiful season!
