Boys, boys, boys!

We got a special treat this weekend. My nephews Jacob and Jeffrey came to stay while their parents got some kiddo-free time. Sophia, Erick and I are missing them already.

Of course, one never knows what to expect when having a 3- and 5-year-old boy stay at the home of one 3-year-old girl. I was a little afraid they would get bored. We're not skilled at entertaining boys for long periods of time. We were so pleased when the weekend turned out to be fantastic!

Friday night, they stayed up late and played pirates. Sophia lost her eyepatch long ago and never craved a replacement. However, Jacob was not so easily satisfied. No self-respecting pirate has both eyes. So I crafted him one, and fortunately it worked.

Saturday morning involved lots and lots of playing and imagination. Watching the three of them running around the house adding to one another's ideas was really entertaining. Then we all got a treat since William had his SIXTH birthday party at Flipz. That was a great time. Jeffrey really enjoyed posing for the camera and checking out the shots I got.

Jacob and Jeffrey were very happy that they got to be in Columbia to celebrate William!

After Flipz, you will never believe what happened. We went home, and all five of us slept! Weird, right? It could have had something to do with the fact that none of us slept very well after 3:30 that morning. But still, that was a wonderful treat! It set us up well to head out to the mall and have a great time wandering around, reading books at Barnes & Noble, playing Glow Golf

and riding the carousel.

Sunday morning was spent alternately with the cousins next door and back at our house. Another great morning just getting to watch the cousins play together, joining in when allowed. When Seth and Angie came back, we took the opportunity to celebrate both the boys with birthdays this week. As I mentioned, William turns six. And Jeffrey turns three!

I so enjoyed the chance to hang out with Jacob and Jeffrey. Since they live a few hours away, we don't get the kind of quality time with them that we get with Aaron, William and Henri. I can't wait to do it again!
