Our Nativity

Yesterday I was feeling particularly Christmasy, so we got down all of our Christmas stuff and put out everything but the tree. We'll save that for the big reveal on Friday. Sophia was very happy to see the Nativity set. She loved it last year, and this one appears to be no different. She's not as keen on kissing the Baby Jesus this year, but she has lots of fun with him.

Something I didn't realize about the Savior. He loves to slide.

Once I moved the scene to the window, she was particularly keen on rearranging the characters. There were some pretty interesting situations taking place throughout the day, and a great deal of sleeping.

It didn't take long until her favorite ornament, the Frog Prince, took over Joseph's role in the Nativity. Pretty soon, Joseph was just an observer and the Frog Prince was standing guard with Mary.

  1. I think it says something in 2nd Malachi about thou shalt slide down roofs of barns in mangers, so that's probably where she got that...

Just a gift idea for Sophia. Jax loves this stuff and since Sophia is so big on playing with Baby Jesus, this might be right up her alley.

  3. That's hilarious. Ava loves to make the baby Jesus slide too, she builds ramps out of books and down he goes!

  4. LOL! My son had his star wars characters in the stable protecting baby Jesus a couple of years ago. I'll have to tell him about the slide... great idea!!
Thanks for the kind words on my blog:)

  5. Love stories about children and Nativity sets! A friend of mine had a huge one and was explaining the story to her 3 ear old grandson. Later that day she walked by him as he was staring at it and singing, "Baby Jesus had a farm, e-i-e-i-o".
